Claims Support Representative

Under the direction of the Claims Department Supervisor, the Claims Support Representative performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to duties as described below:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Claims Department Supervisor, the Claims Support Representative performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to duties as described below
  • Provide support to the Claim Department
  • Answer incoming New Claim calls and department overflow calls
  • Set up all new claims and assign to adjuster(s)
  • Track, compile and input statistical data for Company reports including Claim Activity Reports and Underwriting reports
  • Issue payments for routine expense invoices
  • Complies with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follows Aspire Claims Services/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules
  • Manage all salvage vehicles at Copart
  • Notify NMVTIS when a vehicle is settled as a total loss
  • Issue payments for routine expense invoices including review of Copart advance charges: if they differ from what was approved by the adjuster, send to the adjuster to review and pay. If charges are the same, pay the invoice
  • Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance
  • Assist claims department by completing special projects including but not limited to assisting with total losses and subrogation, and various clerical duties such as copying, scanning and data entry
  • Other duties as assigned/requested

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to learn and understand insurance industry practices, standards and terminology preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Related insurance industry experience a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Web-based systems, and type 35+ wpm
  • Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities
  • Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Staff, Partners, Clients and Insurance Carriers
  • Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of good will, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere
  • Ability to be a team player and work cohesively with other Aspire Claims Services’ Partners’ and Companies’ staff to achieve company goals
  • Able to represent the Company in a professional manner and contribute to the corporate image
  • Able to consistently provide excellent customer service

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is a non-exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable
  • This work environment is fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion
  • This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management
  • The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment
  • Travel may be required
  • Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting

Pay Range: $18 – $22 / hour with $1000 Sign-On Bonus
