Claims Representative

JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision of the Supervisor, the Claims Representative performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile claims in a timely and efficient manner;
  2. Document investigations, evaluations, recommendations, and plans of action;
  3. Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards, industry best practices and all state and federal regulations;
  4. Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports and claim file documentation;
  5. Complies with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follows Aspire General Insurance/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules;
  6. Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance;
  7. Other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  1. Two plus years’ experience in Property and Casualty insurance industry;
  2. Must have a clear understanding of insurance industry practices, standards and terminology;
  3. Experience handling both auto property damage and injury claims recommended;
  4. Must be able to pass a background check;
  5. Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities;
  6. Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills;
  7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
  8. Ability to achieve targeted performance goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. This is a non-exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable;
  2. This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management;
  3. The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment;
  4. Travel may be required;
  5. This work environment is fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion;
  6. Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting
